''Ceratocystis paradoxa'' is a plant pathogen able to cause disease in many species. It is a cosmopolitan fungus and has been reported from ''Ananas'' (''Bromeliaceae''), ''Cocos'' spp., ''Elaeis'' spp. (''Arecaceae''), ''Ipomoea'' spp. (''Convolvulaceae''), ''Musa'' spp. (Musaceae), ''Theobroma'' spp. (''Malvaceae''), ''Saccharum'' spp. (''Poaceae'') and other plant families and causes Leaf and fruit rot on them.
